1628. Will of Joan Hibbard of Lees, Edensor parish requests to be buried near her husband in Beeley, leaves to Thomas Clay “My best gown, my best smock, my best neck cloth, one little napkin, one little box with one little arke and one red petticoat” - “to Francis Clay one blanket, one mortar and a pistille with one little pewter dish.” (John Hibbert her husband was buried in Beeley in 1614) . 1638. Francis Clay paid 1 shilling to the “Ministers Stipends” for his cottage next to the churchyard. (All residents paid including gentry).
1664. Will of Robert Higginbotham (mason) of Beeley. - wife Anne. Abraham Clay was witness to the Will. (Anne Clay married Robert Higgenbotham at Beeley in 1632 she was possibly daughter of Thomas and Margaret Clay who was baptised in Beeley in 1603).

1670. Peter Clay of Birchover, Youlgreave parish gave evidence in favour of Beeley in a church dispute between Bakewell and Beeley churches when four witnesses the youngest of them being 76 years old said “According to their ancestors” etc. (Beeley parish register).

1687. Will of Abraham Clay of Harewood Grange. Beeley. - wife Margaret. - daughter Grace. - He appoints John Norman of Fallinge in Beeley to oversee his under age daughter and farm. - Francis Clay priced the estate. (Ref.- Staffordshire Record Office).
1695. William Clay of Astwith in Ault Hucknall parish did purchase in 1695 for the sum of £60 from John Holme of Beeley a dwelling house with a close of half an acre and 2 closes called the “Hall Croft” and “Southfield” containing 6 acres all in Beeley which John Holmes did inhabit and dwell, but John Holmes did not give over the ancient writings and now the Holme family dispute the ownership. (Bill of Complaint TNA Ref. - C6/390/75.).
1779 to 1781. John Clay owned land in Beeley. (Land Tax).
1882. Will of Joseph Clay farmer of Fallinge Farm. Beeley. Proved by Elizabeth Clay of Fallinge his widow. (Derbyshire Record Office).
1889. August 3rd. Sheffield Telegraph. Bakewell Petty Sessions. Elizabeth Clay farmer of Beeley was fined 1 shilling and costs for leaving two carts on the highway at Beeley so as to obstuct the free passage of the highway on the 21st of July.
1889. August 7th. Derbyshire Times. A Warning at Bakewell Police Court on Friday to Elizabeth Clay of Beeley for leaving two carts on the highway for 2 nights and 1 day was fined 1 shilling and 8s- 6d costs.

1899.March 4th. Derbyshire Times. Funeral of Mrs R. K. Watson daughter of Benjamin and Mary Marsden of Ashover. The following attended Mrs Clay of Beeley. Miss A. Clay, J. Clay,and John Clay.
1899. October 14th. Derbyshire Times. Miss L. Clay and Miss E. Clay both of Fallinge were amongst guests at a Beeley wedding also Mr W. Clay of Fallinge.
1900. June 30th. Derbyshire Times. A pretty wedding at Beeley. Miss Mary Clay elder daughter of Mrs Clay of Fallinge Farm to Mr Charles Cowley. Bridesmaids were Misses Annie and Edith Clay sisters of the bride.The reception was held at the home of the brides mother. Mr J and Miss L. Clay of Wensley attended.
1902. Feb 14th. Admin of Elizabeth Clay widow of Beeley who died 22nd November 1901 probate granted to John William Clay farmer. (DRO Ref.- D7113/37).
1913. June 28th. High Peak News. Frank Clay of Fallinge. Farmer caught driving without lights - tried to bribe policeman.

Francis Clay late of Beeley Hall. Derbyshire died 23rd February 1958 age 84. Honest and upright all his ways.
Also of Amy Eveline Clay died 20th March 1969 aged 83. Reunited.
